This is the frame chair. I designed this while thinking of the frame’s of the well known Gispen chairs, the shape of these chairs fascinate me (and ofcourse many more). The frames of this chair were most importand to me in the shaping and making process. I wanted the chair to be spacious but also to take a stand in the room.
Down below you first see my think and design process in order from the first idea till the final mock-up and the proces of making this chair. The two frames of the chair are made from laminated ash wood. The are connected trough steel pipes and webbing used for upholstering of furniture.
